Position 1 : Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Birmingham Site)

A leading company specialising in the heat treatment of steel & non ferrous parts for the Aerospace and Engineering industries, a vacancy has arisen at our Birmingham site for an Electrical Engineer to join a small team involved in servicing and maintaining a range of heat treatment furnaces and associated plant.

The suitable candidate will be required to:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
  • Diagnosing causes of breakdowns.
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Skills/requirements:

  • Qualified to C&G 2361 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installations or Equivalent with 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • C & G 2391-10 Inspection and Testing would be an advantage.
  • Possess excellent fault finding skills and a hands on approach to dealing with breakdowns.
  • Good communication skills, liaising with client departments.
  • Computer literate.

Experience in the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Vacuum technology, CAD, PLC programming, Thermal Processing equipment.

Position 2 : Calibration Engineer (Bury Site)

A leading company specialising in the heat treatment of steel & non ferrous parts for the Aerospace and Engineering industries, a vacancy has arisen at our Bury site for a Calibration Engineer due to our expansion in the Aerospace field.

The suitable candidate will be required to:

  • Carry out calibration of temperature, vacuum & pressure instrumentation.
  • Carry out diagnostics of instrumentation and implement corrective actions.
  • Create reports and input data in to the quality control system.
  • Liaising with client departments, keeping them informed of equipment requirements and completion times;

Skills/requirements:

  • A background in quality / inspection / instrumentation is desirable. Experience of pyrometery would be an advantage.
  • Use of calibration and testing equipment.
  • IT literate – i.e Word, Excel and any experience of datalogging software would also be an advantage.  Appropriate training will be given.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail as well as good communication skills, both written and oral, are required.

The company offers:

Salary - £18,000 - £25,000 depending on experience.
