Our well-equipped laboratory in Cambridge is renowned as a centre of excellence in innovating unique heat treatment and hard coatings processes that solve real world problems for customers. Highly skilled and qualified staff lead cross-industry research directly with product manufacturers to improve performance, reduce production cycle times and achieve savings. Of course this is a team effort with significant expertise being drawn upon from our sites in Manchester and Birmingham.
Once a new process is developed, we have the experience and skills in place to scale-up from the lab to full production, quickly. We offer customers an incomparable range of metal improvement services. Heat treatments include solution, age or precipitation, hardening and tempering, nitriding by gas or plasma and more. Coatings include TiN, CrN, CrALN, TiALN, Diamond Like Carbon, Duplex Nitron and multi-layer variants. A growing vacuum brazing capability allows us to produce increasingly complex component assemblies by joining same-metal or dissimilar metals.
Investment in over 45 vehicles, operating out of six depots around the country, means we take total responsibility from load pick-up through processing and to return.
Already AS9100 revision D certified and with many process specific approvals from aerospace primes such as Airbus, BAe Systems, Rolls Royce and Moog, means visitors to our stand P52 at Advance Engineering can be assured they are speaking to the best in the business.
