The Manchester (Bury) site was first occupied by Wallwork Heat Treatment in 1980 when it moved, as some long term customers may remember, from Stalybridge. With a staff of just over 30, four sealed quench furnaces and a small tool department we could never envisage running out of space in our new large factory.
Fast forward 35 years and the staff number has grown to over 100 people, our four sealed quench furnaces have grown to ten and we have added 11 vacuum furnaces, 3 nitriding furnaces, an aluminium treating line and a Tufftride department. we are running out of space!
The shape of the business has changed over this period too with greater emphasis on customer service, technical support and quality assurance, all of which has required more qualified people and space for them to work in. We are coming close to completing our visitor and training suite which has been built as a mezzannine at the front of the main works. An added benefit to this facility is that there are now splendid views over the main works internally and Bury and the Peninnes externally.
The new suite is due to be completed some time in February 2016.
